Spice Device arose out of a desire for Theresa Smith to have her father, Bill Smith, keep from being bored in retirement from the aerospace industry. She suggested that he continue to design things as he had done his entire working career. She suggested that he think of a way to measure spices without measuring spoons, and thought that a measuring spice cap would be a way to do it. Bill worked out the design and finally came up with Spice Device, the measuring cap that measures with a twist of the wrist and fits on all spice containers!
